I am super excited to announce that Spending to Save is now Pinwheels and Piggybanks! I’ll still provide the great money saving tips you’ve come to expect from me. But I will also write more on family finance and family life.
As a busy working mom of two little boys, I am focused on making the best life possible for them. In many cases, that means finding ways to stretch our dollars so I can get out of debt, save for their college educations, and also provide them with enriching activities like swim lessons and fun family vacations where we can build great memories.
In other cases it means finding ways so I can spend more time with my kids and improving the quality of our time together. I’ve already hinted at this a bit in previous posts such as making bath time more productive and time management tips busy families need to know. But with this rebranding, these tips to save time so you can do the things you want to do (instead of the things you have to do) are going to be a bigger focus.
I’m also excited to share parenting tips and hacks I have learned along the way. I was the first on both sides of our family to have a baby. While my mother and mother-in-law were happy to offer advice, a lot of what they knew from raising kids wasn’t accurate any more (babies should sleep on their backs, not their tummies!). I also wasn’t really close with any girlfriends who had kids, which meant I had to do a lot of my own research and finding my own way.
I remember how isolating that could feel, especially as a new (hormonal) mom. If I can help even one new parent from feeling that way by sharing what I have learned, it will be time well spent.
I hope some of this has piqued your interest and you’re interested in joining me in this journey. Whether you’re here for the tips to save money, save time, the parenting hacks, or all of the above, I hope I can provide you with helpful tips that make your life at least a bit easier. Be sure to subscribe in the box to the right/bottom to get the latest updates.
And I look forward to learning from you too! Us moms and parents need to stick together on this crazy ride called parenthood. I hope you’ll comment on my posts with your questions and your own tips so we can all learn from one another.
Thanks for reading this. I am excited to be on this journey with you and look forward to engaging with you!
